| Trout Pond There's nothing like a relaxing day at the trout pond! Montana's blue-ribbon trout streams bring anglers from all over the world, and are the inspiration for this entertaining (and dry!) venture into the realm of the legendary cutthroat. Trout Pond Each player starts with- 1 fisherman, 10 trout, and 2 boulders. Taking turns, the players place any one of their pieces on an open space anywhere on the board. Fishermen can move in a straight line in any one direction, any number of spaces, and capture one or more trout by jumping over them and landing on a blank spot. Trout can move in any one direction, one space at a time, trying to get into position to jump over and "eat" their opponent's trout. The boulders act as blockers. They cannot be moved once in place. Fishermen and trout must go around boulders. Not all pieces have to be placed on the board before the ones on the board can be moved. A good strategy is to hold a few pieces in reserve for placement later in the game. The player's turn is over once a piece has been placed, moved, or used to jump over an opponent's piece(s). The game is over when all of one player's trout are removed from the board. Approximately 15" x 24" |
